The Magic of the Senses
LIFETIME SENSORY RECORDINGS = ESTABLISHED WORLDVIEW
WORLDVIEW = THINKING & BEHAVIORS
THINKING & BEHAVIORS = EXPERIENTIAL OUTCOMES
"To hear is to forget, to see is to remember, to experience is to understand."
SENSORY LEARNING – DEFNITION:
The process of using all of the five senses to enhance comprehension and recall during the training process.
EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING – DEFINITION
The process of using humor, writing, movement, verbalization, interaction, and group activity to instill a higher understanding and to create lasting behavioral change
SENSORY LEARNING + EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING = TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE
Your entire worldview and beliefs are merely an accumulation of thousands upon thousands of sensory experiences that you've recorded since the moment of birth.
If you examined how you feel about status, love, money, health, postal workers, the opposite sex, your intelligence, lawyers, politics, and every other subject – you could find out how you came upon these beliefs by identifying specific sensory experiences from your past.
The subconscious mind is designed to gather recordings from the senses of touch, taste, smell, sight and sound – and to learn to navigate in the world through the conscious mind.
When you touch a hot stove and find that it burns – the subconscious belief system stores that memory. When you smell your mother's perfume while hearing her tell you she loves you – the scent is stored as memory and feeling. When you dance with your first love while listening to a pop tune – that feeling and song are forever tied together. And if you became ill in Mexico from a bout with a tequila bottle and bad guacamole – you may avoid Mexico due to your subconscious beliefs, whether you truly know the reason why.
The subconscious mind is a wonderful mechanism that assists us to survive and navigate in this world – but twisted sensory recordings can skew our worldview and inhibit our true potential in life.
We call these erroneous sensory experiences – Falsely Imprinted Belief Systems (FIBS).
Throughout your life you have collected information about how the world works in relation to men, women, bosses, recognition, intelligence, race, sexuality etc..., and your particular experiences will affect your thinking, attitudes, behaviors and outcomes.
The more frequent and intense the sensory experience, the stronger your belief system about the subject. Therefore, upon closer examination of your experiences – we can create a plan for transformation.
All learning and beliefs are formed through the sensory experience, and we can enhance learning and change belief systems and performance through Experiential Training through the Senses.
Wizard University uses advanced, unconventional methods in its approach by incorporating the senses into every aspect of its Experiential Training regimen, in order to transcend basic learning into new understanding and enhanced performance in every course and event.
